HOW TO SPEND YOUR LOCK DOWN WISELY.

How To Make The Most Of Time Spent Social Distancing

The corona virus pandemic has held almost the whole world to a standstill; almost shutting down most physical meetings. This has seriously affected businesses, especially places of worship and educational institutions which are still not allowed to resume operation in almost every country of the world.
In a way, the corona virus pandemic brought a twist of opportunities, because time that never seems to be enough is now filled with boredom as a result of inactivity and lack of engagement. To this end it becomes important that we can be accountable for every minute at our disposal.

WAYS TO SPEND YOUR LOCK DOWN WISELY
1.Engage yourself in educational activities..
The lock down has had a serious effect on schools and educational institutions; if we were to wait for schools to resume, a lot of time would have been wasted and when schools resume, there will not be enough time to cover up for all the topics which would have a serious impact on the student.
2. Take online courses related to your field.
Technology has made things easier nowadays. Instead of sitting in halls attending, seminars, exhibitions and symposium, technology has made those things easier. So, instead of staying at home all day, you can occupy yourself with courses that relate to your field to broaden your knowledge in that area.
3. Pursue your passion.
For those that haven't set their hearts on what career to pursue in the future, you can also invest your time in your passion. If you have the passion for singing, dancing, playing football, cooking and other areas. This is a time to lay a good foundation for your future.

The lock down has it's advantages and disadvantages, we should not only look at the disadvantages but we should also look at the ways the lock down could benefit us in our different ways and in our daily lives.

Thank you and see you next week Thursday.

CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR

I didn't fully understand this phrase "be careful what you ask for" till it happened to me. Preparing for my SIWES (Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme), I wanted a good place. An environment where I could learn and grow not just work... I was so sure that was what I wanted. I applied to various offices, checked for placements online, made enquiries from family and friends, even wrote an exam (on top SIWES 😂) and sent a lot of mails.  I eventually got a call to resume work as I had been accepted. Getting there, I realized they didn't directly offer the service I wanted to gain practical experience in, but they offered something similar which is still a plus. Now, this is where it began. Work officially started and this was nothing like what I planned or asked for. In the first week of resumption all SIWES interns were given a study plan that included courses we were expected to take within a period of time... yep, we had deadlines to meet. Plus, we still had ...

LETTING GO

Happy new year everyone. I hope this write up adds to us in this new year. According to the vocapture dictionary, an habit is an action performed repeatedly and automatically usually without awareness. I would say that an habit is an action that is cultivate gradually. As human beings, we can discern from what is right and wrong. With this ability to discern, we choose to cultivate either good or bad habits. The cultivation of these habits will determine if the products will ad to your life positively or negatively and this is where our inner man comes to play and directs our actions. It is left to us to pick an action between what is wrong and what is right. The cultivation of bad habits often leads to grevious consequences. I want to point out something here; the cultivation of bad habit is easy but turning a new leaf is going to be difficult and if not careful, it could develop into an addiction> In some cases, their addiction leaves a stigma in their lives forever. To all those ...
