Ecclesiastes 9:11
"Again, I saw under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the
strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favour to the
men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all"
I input this scripture because what I want to teach today
was fetched from this scripture. I would be talking about opportunity in
relation to time and chance in this scripture.
In the scripture above, Solomon was saying what he observed after all he saw
and thereafter, he made the pronouncement. My Dad used this scripture many
times when he spoke to me about preparation and how it affects the time and
chance God has prepared for me to manifest to the world. I would be explaining this message carefully as
I want us to get the full message. The term “again, I saw under the sun”,
depicts that it’s the same 24hours God gave everyone to invest their time; both
the rich and the poor have the same number of hours but what they do is what
makes the difference. What makes men rich is what they did in the past or what
their ancestors have done as the case may be.
Opportunity makes its presence known to those who are
prepared enough to seize it. The only way you can seize your opportunity is to
be ready when the chance comes to show what you used you time to do.
Understanding the interplay between time and chance is essential in harnessing
the power of opportunity.
“Time is your most precious
gift, because you only have a set amount of it” -Rick Warren
Time, is a precious gift that determines when
opportunities emerge. Every second counts because your today is a function of
your yesterday; what you invested your time in yesterday is what is playing out
itself today. A saying goes “what you sow, is what you reap”, you can’t expect
to sow corn and reap bananas; the same applies to how you invest your time.
Chance is the unpredictable spice in life, creating a
certain randomness at which opportunities occur. Unexpectable occurrence can
pave way for a person to seize opportunities; this is where what you’ve done
with your time plays out because the chance to prove yourself might come just
once. It is left to the individual to recognize and capitalize on the moments
of chance changing them to paths to success and fulfillment.
While we cannot forecast the chance opportunities would
appear to us, we can choose how to respond to opportunities life present to us
with how we develop ourselves over time. I hope this writeup was helpful and
insightful on how time, chance and opportunity is woven together.
Thank you so much for reading till the
end
